About the Ummatics Conference 2024
“Ummatics” is an emerging concept in Muslim sociopolitical discourse but one that seeks to strengthen age-old Islamic ideas and practices. This conference seeks to explore the “what”, “why”, and “how” of the Ummatics Institute in the context of imagining an ummatic future, understanding the importance of working for it, and thinking about how such work might proceed. With reflections by prominent thinkers on Islam as an ummatic deen, comparative unification models, mid-level discursive change, ummatic political analysis and more, this conference is not to be missed by anyone actively concerned with the revival of the Umma.

Getting to the Conference Venue
Please note that there is no direct public transportation to the International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization (ISTAC). The nearest large public transit station is KL Sentral and the closest train stops are MRT Semantan and Komuter Putra. The nearest bus station is Duta Bus Station. Guests who are not driving to the conference venue will need to take a taxi.

In the app, tap “Car” to book a ride. A credit card can be setup under the “Payment” icon or the driver can be paid by cash. Enter “ISTAC” as your destination and it should appear as an option.
