The Ummatics Institute’s inaugural 3-day conference was held June 13-15 in Istanbul, Türkiye. It attracted a diverse array of Ummatic-minded people, both of academic and non-academic backgrounds. The 27 paper presenters were affiliated with universities from all over the world including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Egypt, Sweden, Germany, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and Türkiye. The paper topics presented at the conference ranged from conceptualizations of the Umma to ideas related to Khilafah and Islamic political theory to visions of an Islamic governance system for the modern world.
The Ummatics Institute seeks to host a variety of forums with the aim of facilitating critical discourses on ummatic thought and practice.
These forums support the Institute’s broad goals by providing a unique dialogical space for scholars, experts, thought leaders, and community organizers to collectively address topics of importance to the Muslim Umma and its future. The first of these forums is the Ummatics Colloquium.
Facilitate and elevate the quality and quantity of discourses about ummatic thought and practice
Support and augment ummatic thinking about issues that affect the Muslim World and the Muslim diaspora
Foster a community of mutually-supportive thinkers and researchers on ummatic topics
The Ummatics Institute Conducts A Monthly Colloquium To Facilitate Discussions Among Academics On A Range Of Ummatics Issues Related To The Essence Of The Muslim Umma, As Well As The Means To Achieve Ummatic Unity. Senior Scholars Are Invited To Engage With Aspiring Scholars, Providing Them With Possible Answers At Times And Sparking Further Questions For Research And Discussion At Other Times.
